A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was shot in his back and leg area at 6:17 p.m. Sunday in west Racine.
Officials with the Racine Police Department have not released the boy’s name. Just after the shooting took place int he 2800 block of Wright Avenue, the boy was taken to Ascension All Saints Hospital emergency room.
After staff assessed his wounds, the boy was taken by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, according to a press release by the Racine Police Department.
Detectives are still investigating the shooting. No one is in custody at this time.
Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this crime. Any witnesses, or citizens with information, are urged to call the Racine Police Department Investigations Unit at (262) 635-7756.
