A 22-year-old Wind Lake man faces a felony charge of third-degree sexual assault after police received a report from a 21-year-old woman about an incident Sept. 15.

The felony charge filed Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court against Skylar D. Johnston carries a fine of $25,000 and 10 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint:
The woman reported to an officer with the town of Norway Police Department that she had been sexually assaulted by the defendant.

According to the victim, she and the defendant had been texting on and off for a few weeks and met him for the first time Sept. 15 at his residence. She stated that she, the defendant and another male were, drinking and smoking marijuana.

Later in the night, the other man went into the house to go to sleep, and the woman and Johnston went to his bedroom, where she stated they were going to watch TV. While they were lying on his bed, the woman stated that Johnston grabbed her hand and placed it on his penis. The woman told him to stop, but he then placed his hand under her shirt and bra and grabbed her breasts.

The woman stated she continued to tell Johnston to stop, but he eventually was able to remove her clothing and had sexual intercourse with her.

At one point, the woman stated that Johnston put his hand around her neck and squeezed. When it was done, she stated she was upset and started to cry.

Johnston admitted to the police there was sexual contact and that he was being “pushy” with the victim.

The defendant, who is free from custody on a $25,000 signature bond, is due back in court Oct. 4 for a 9 a.m. preliminary hearing.
