Where do you live? Sturtevant

How long have you lived there? (no response)

Age? 40 years old

Spouse or partner’s name? Shauna Rosenbaum

If you have children, please include their ages I have a daughter named Addison who is 12 years old and a son named Bo who is 6 years old.

What is your current profession? Sprinkler Fitter tradesman.

What position are you applying for? Village of Sturtevant President

What motivated you to seek out this seat? I am very proud to be a lifelong resident of Sturtevant. I also believe the village has an extraordinary amount of potential for economic growth, furthering land development, and achieving a stronger sense of community. Further, I am very passionate about preserving past memories and traditions of the village, while creating and incorporating new ones. Also, with the experience I have had in serving on the village board and my dedication to being involved in the community, I believe I could be a beneficial asset to the continuing development of Sturtevant.

Why do you think you are a good candidate for the job? I am very dedicated to this community and possess strong leadership and decisive decision making skills. While serving two terms as a trustee on the village board, I have accumulated knowledge while having the experience in being the chairman of finance, the DPW committee and chairman of the APPL. I have also served on the Sturtevant planning commission committee and have volunteered many hours in helping in planning, organizing and hosting community events. I am willing to go above and beyond to serve the community and make it a better place for all.

Name three things you would like to see change with how things are being done. I would like to see more economic and industrial growth for the village with the goal of Sturtevant becoming a desired destination to live or visit. I believe we have multiple possibilities for land development as well as many desires for the completion of projects and occupancy of vacant storefronts. Lastly, I value a sense of community within the village and would like to incorporate more community events and gatherings within the village.

What resources would you need to have to accomplish that? In order to achieve future goals for the community the cooperation and input of the village board, the Community Development Authority and the village residents are tremendously valued. It is important to me to have open communication where any concerns are addressed and known that they are heard and taken into consideration.

What would success look like and how would you measure that success? Success to me would be being a village president that is serving his community to the best of his abilities while maintaining a close relationship with the village board, the village residents and neighboring communities. I would measure the success by the progress of the development of the village without an increased taxation and the continual improvement of community relations.

How would you seek buy-in from either the community and/or your colleagues to accomplish those tasks? It can be difficult to appease everyone, but I believe it is important to acknowledge that every concern is heard and is important. I believe that if negotiations are needed, what makes a project successful is positivity and cooperation. If I am elected I assure you the decisions that will need to be made while I am in office will be made with the best intentions for the village and its residents.

What characteristics do you bring to the table to accomplish those tasks? I believe I have good communication skills and am optimistic about new ideas. I am also very dedicated to seeing a task from start to finish and am determined to perform to the best of my abilities. Further, I become very passionate about things I believe in and value the opinion of others.
