This summer is a unique occasion for the Copa America, a historic tournament that takes place every two to four years between the best teams from South America. Not only does this year’s edition involve teams from the North and Central American sections, but the entire tournament is being hosted in the United States. Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, and the USA will battle to secure the trophy at the final in Miami, Florida. As excitement for the tournament builds up, below is our rundown of the five most appealing and high-capacity stadiums hosting games at the 2024 Copa America.

Top 5 stadiums
MetLife Stadium – New Jersey

1. MetLife Stadium — New Jersey

One of the largest and most historic stadiums in the United States, Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will host one of the Copa America semifinals in 2024.

If you check out the soccer odds, you will notice that most people are predicting a top team like Argentina or Brazil will go on to win the tournament. Seeing one of those teams coming out for a massive game at MetLife Stadium will be a dream realized for soccer fans in the New York-New Jersey area.

Aside from the Copa, this incredible venue is set to play a big part in the 2026 World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

2. AT&T Stadium — Texas

Another stunning stadium hosting a Copa America game in 2024 is the AT&T Stadium in Texas. With a capacity of more than 80,000, this Arlington venue will likely be sold out for all the games it hosts in the summer.

While its primary use is as the home ground of the Dallas Cowboys NFL team, AT&T Stadium is also where the Cotton Bowl Classic and the Southwest Classic occur every year. While it is a relatively new ground that opened in 2009, there have already been some iconic matches at this venue.

One of the 2024 Copa America quarterfinals will be held at this ground, which was in the running to host the World Cup final. While that showpiece event in 2026 is taking place in New Jersey, soccer fans can still expect to witness some terrific international games in the next few years.

SoFi Stadium — California

3. SoFi Stadium — California

SoFi Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL and the site of various concerts, theatrical performances, and sports games, will host Copa America matches this summer.

Given the area’s large population of soccer fans from North, South, and Central America, the atmospheres at all the games this venue hosts are likely to be incredible.

Fans can expect to see plenty of star players in action this summer, with SoFi Stadium hosting group stage games involving Brazil and Mexico. Some of the sport’s most considerable talents, such as Neymar, Vinicius, and Endrick, will be playing here.

4. Bank of America Stadium — North Carolina

A charming 74,000-seater venue that belongs to the Carolina Panthers NFL team and Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer, Bank of America Stadium will host the Copa America group stage and knockout rounds.

One of the semi-finals is set to take place in Charlotte, NC, and fans are already able to get tickets.

Aside from the semi-final, fans can expect to see Team USA, Mexico, and Argentina playing group-stage games at Bank of America Stadium. Given the passionate support that Charlotte FC gets at this ground, there are likely to be many die-hard soccer fans in attendance during the Copa matches.

Hard Rock Stadium — Florida

5. Hard Rock Stadium — Florida

The 2024 Copa America showpiece event will be held in Miami, Florida. Given Argentine superstar Lionel Messi plays for Inter Miami in MLS, local fans may be set to see a lot more of him in the summer.

Messi’s Argentina is one of the teams to watch in the Copa – and there is a strong possibility they will be involved in the final at Hard Rock Stadium on July 14th, 2024.

A venue similar to European soccer grounds, Hard Rock Stadium hosts Miami Dolphins NFL and University of Miami NCAA American football matches. Over 65,000 fans are sure to create a raucous and thrilling atmosphere when the Copa final is played.

Aside from the Copa, there will also be World Cup action at this stadium in 2026. While it is not likely to host the semi-finals, there will be group stage and possibly knockout matches in Miami.

Who Will Take Home the Trophy?

Argentina, the World Cup winner, is the bookmakers’ favorite to secure another title from veteran Lionel Messi. Brazil is hot on their heels, although they are not as formidable as they were in the past. Uruguay, Colombia, and the United States round off the top five teams predicted to lift the trophy. The USA and Mexico hope to cause an upset and become the first non-CONMEBOL nation to win the Copa America.
