Obituary for Bruno Ernest Fani

January 16, 1947 — April 23, 2024

Bruno Ernest Fani, 77, passed away peacefully at home with his oldest son by his side on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Bruno was born on Jan. 16, 1947, in Italy and came to the United States as a young man at the age of 14. He was the son of Herman and Helen (Gentile) Fani.

Growing up, Bruno attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Class of 1966, in which he participated in many wrestling tournaments and earned the title of State Champ. As a young man, Bruno served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War.

On June 30, 1990, Bruno married his loving wife, Jacqueline Dunham, who preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2020. Bruno was employed by Beckhart Environment Inc. until his retirement. After retirement, Bruno took a job with Maplecrest Country Club. Bruno loved the outdoors and enjoyed mowing and maintaining the grounds.

Bruno was a member of the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286, the Swedish American Club, and a former member of the Italian American Club.

Through life, Bruno enjoyed playing pool with his wife, spending time out and about with family and his many friends, talking with his family in Italy, his breakfast club, gardening, watching his grandchildren play sports, watching and feeding the birds, and raising his banana trees. Bruno also enjoyed tossing the frisbee with his dog, Izzy.

Bruno is survived by his loving family: sons, Steven (Georgey) Fani and Anthony (Kelley) Fani; daughter, Emilia (Michael) Meincke; and sons, Edward (Wendy) Rose and Dan (Candi) Rose. Bruno is survived by his 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bruno is also survived by his sister, Marietta (Gerald) Mengo; brother, Jerry (Hilda) Fani; and sister-in-law, Janet Fani. Bruno is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, his beloved family in Italy and many friends.

Bruno is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie; brother, Frank; and his parents, Herman and Helen Fani.

Services

A funeral service for Bruno Ernest Fani will be held at 5 p.m. on April 28 at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, followed by full military honors. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
