Jens graduated from Wm Horlick High School, “Class of 1951.” Following high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. It was at high school that he met Barbara Fehlberg and on June 18, 1955, at St. Patrick Catholic Church they were united in marriage. They were together for 65 years when Barbara passed Sept. 28, 2020.

Jens was a brick layer and co-owned and operated Triple J Mason Contractors, retiring in 1989. In his own words, he would say, “I love my work” and “I would play Schaskopf 24 hours a day.” Jens was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Northside Businessmen and Dania Hall.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, vacationing — especially cruises — and collecting antique tools and woodworking. He made a cradle for each of his grandchildren. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
