Obituary for Dennis Louis Piech
February 25, 1940 – March 20, 2024
Dennis Louis Piech, age 84, of Racine, entered into eternal life on Wednesday March 20, 2024. He was born on February 25, 1940, in Milwaukee, to the late Casmir and Harriet (NĂ©e Kryszewski) Piech.
Dennis proudly served his country in the 82nd airborne division of the United States Army stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C. A natural leader with a strong and dedicated work ethic, Dennis worked as a Pile Driver, Forest Ranger, Millwright and eventual partner at Marshall Erecting where he retired from.
An avid outdoorsman, Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. He was a member of the Grant Park Men’s senior golf league where he will be remembered for his generosity and great sense of humor. He will be missed on the course by his mates, Cliff, Keith, Jim and Rick.
He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his son, Brian; grandson, Lorenzo; Lorenzo’s mom, Aida; sister, Cookie (Whitey) Diesch; brother, Harry King (Kathy McCarthy); and special friends, Joe and Gail Marshall. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Beverlee (Jack) Becker.
Services
Entombment with Full Military Honors was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wis., 21731 Spring St.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the team at the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Aurora St. Luke’s for their compassionate care of Dennis in his final days.
